1. Our commitment
Stewardli is committed to ensuring that people of all abilities can access and use our website and services. We work to remove barriers that may prevent donors, supporters, nonprofit clients, and members of the public from interacting with Stewardli.
Accessibility is an ongoing priority that we consider as we design, build, and improve our website and donor-engagement tools.
2. Standards we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, an internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility. We also strive to meet applicable Canadian accessibility requirements, including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) where they apply to our organization.
These standards help us provide content that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people using a wide range of assistive technologies.
3. Website accessibility features
Our website is designed with accessibility features that include:
- Semantic HTML structure and landmarks to support screen readers
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive elements
- Clear, consistent page structure and headings
- Colour choices intended to maintain readable contrast
- Responsive layouts that adapt to different devices and zoom levels
- Visible focus indicators for interactive controls
4. Accessibility of AI voice interactions
Nora, our AI voice assistant, is designed to communicate clearly and respectfully. At the beginning of a call, Nora identifies herself as an AI assistant and names the nonprofit organization on whose behalf she is calling.
To support accessible interactions, a recipient may:
- Ask Nora to slow down or repeat information
- Request follow-up from a person at the nonprofit
- Choose an alternative channel, such as text or email, where available
- Decline to continue at any time
If speaking by phone is not accessible to you, you may contact the nonprofit organization or Stewardli directly to arrange an alternative way to communicate.
5. Alternative formats and assistance
If you need information from our website or about our services in an alternative format, or if you need assistance completing a task, we will work with you to provide the information in a way that meets your needs where reasonably possible.
You can request support or an alternative format by contacting us using the information at the bottom of this statement.
6. Ongoing efforts
To maintain and improve accessibility, we:
- Consider accessibility when designing and updating our website and tools
- Review new features and content for accessibility barriers
- Act on feedback we receive from users
- Work to address issues as they are identified
Because technology and standards evolve, accessibility is a continuous effort rather than a one-time task.
7. Third-party content and tools
Some features of our services rely on third-party providers, such as telephony, AI voice, transcription, CRM, scheduling, and analytics tools. While we select providers that support accessibility where possible, we may not fully control the accessibility of third-party content or platforms.
If you encounter a barrier involving a third-party tool used with our services, please let us know so we can help or work with the provider.
8. Feedback
We welcome your feedback about the accessibility of Stewardli. If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website or services, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. When you reach out, it helps to include:
- A description of the barrier or difficulty you experienced
- The page, feature, or interaction involved
- The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if known
- How you would like us to follow up with you
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback and respond in a reasonable timeframe.
9. Changes to this statement
We may update this Accessibility Statement from time to time to reflect changes to our website, services, or applicable standards. The effective date at the top of this statement indicates when it was last updated.
